  1. I was lucky enough to be a tenant of Harold’s for 8 years. The last time I saw him he was up on a ladder fixing a ceiling light in the kitchen, I remember thinking how impressive that it was at his age to still be able and willing to do all that. I lived with his daughter Tara for some of those 8 years so I got to know him a bit personally, he even came out to support a few of my comedy shows, and of course that one time we all survived a hurricane together. He was so full of life, fun loving and always a joy to talk to. I’m so sorry for your loss Tara, I really admired the relationship you and your father had with each other. Not only did you both work well together, you also enjoyed spending your free time together and always found the fun or made the fun at any event. I think that is a rare and special thing to be treasured always. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
P.S- Thank you for everything Harold, enjoy the other side, tell Callie I said “hi”.

When the kids were little and we were living in Kearney, Nebraska, one of the cars broke down and needing fixing. I couldn’t go get it because I was watching the kids. It was really early in the morning & Harold was going out for a run. So he said no problem I’ll go get it. I didn’t know how all by himself. He drove the one car, picked it up then drove it about a half a mile down the road. Then jogged back, drove it down a mile, then jogged back, then drove it. He did that all the way back to the house. It was so funny. Apparently one of the neighbors got wind of it and told the local paper. They then wrote a little article of the interesting things going on in the neighborhood. Harold always had a way of solving problems!

  3. I moved into the house across the street from Harold about a year and a half ago. Harold was the first person I met in the neighborhood. He was so friendly and welcoming. I would run into him quite often while out walking my dog and he would be doing his daily walk. We would usually chat for a good while talking about everything under the sun. He had my wife and I over for the 4th of July last year. We lit off fireworks and talked for hours. I will really miss Harold, he was a good man and a great friend.
    My condolences to his family.

Condolences to Harold’s family. We have so many fun memories of times with Harold. Great years with our group working for Commercial Federal. Our many get togethers for Super-studs events, tailgating at the College World Series, annual guy trips to Iowa City for basketball and fun, our ski trip to Colorado, a trip to Key West to stay on Harold’s new Catamaran and our get togethers at Charlie’s on the Lake for drinks and food and laughter. We will surely miss Harold; until we meet again!
